Project: Bumpboxx X Major League Soccer Collaboration
Problem
How to develop a series of Limited Edition Bumpboxx Flare 8 units, in collaboration with Major League Soccer, that embody the spirit and excitement of the league. And tell the story in a cohesive way through both the product and social media.
Project Goal
This project showcased the potential of the Bumpboxx as a customizable canvas. The flagship Flare 8 model was perfect because it’s powerful and provides ample surface area for graphics and custom features. This allowed us to capture each team’s unique identity and create a truly exceptional product. MLS supplied us with brand guidelines for all 10 teams, including logos, wordmarks, color palettes, and uniform kits. Our goal was to combine these elements into elegant patterns and designs that tell each team’s story. This was not a “one size fits all” approach. Some teams provided more assets than others, so we customized each story carefully. Seeing the different personalities together enhanced MLS’s overall brand, and all the teams supported the effort. The promotional content needed to be adaptable and templated. We provided assets for each team to promote their Bumpboxx, allowing us to swap in game or practice footage or product shots to tell a consistent story most of the time.
