Xfinity My Team USA Match Digital Experience
The Big Idea
Olympic athletes can feel larger than life, distant, extraordinary, impossible to relate to. My Team USA Match closes that gap, matching everyday fans with athletes based on what they actually have in common, turning someone you'd only watch from the stands into someone you recognize a piece of yourself in.
Role
Creative Director
Problem
Comcast needed a fresh, engaging digital experience to highlight its partnership with Team USA's Olympic and Paralympic athletes at local field events, one that would also encourage people to share their experience on social media and extend the campaign's reach beyond the event itself.
Goal
Build an experience flexible enough to be reskinned for future Comcast partnerships, so the underlying framework could outlast this single campaign.
Work
At local events, attendees scanned a QR code to launch the experience, then took a photo of themselves and answered a short series of questions. Using those answers, the experience matched each user with a Team USA athlete who shared similar interests, revealing the match alongside the user's photo and highlighting exactly what they had in common. Users could then download or share their result directly to social media, turning a single interaction at a local event into content that extended across each user's own network.
Responsibilities
Creative direction, concept development, user experience design, content strategy, campaign framework development.
