Problem
How to develop a series of Limited Edition Bumpboxx Flare 8 units, in collaboration with Major League Soccer, that embody the spirit and excitement of the league. And tell the story in a Produce a series of limited edition Bumpboxx units for 10 Major League Soccer teams, each one distinct enough to feel authentically tied to its own club rather than a single product with swapped logos. Some teams came with a deep library of brand assets, others far less, so no single template could do the job across all ten. Alongside the product itself, a video campaign was needed for each team that could stand on its own while still feeling like part of one unified partnership.
Goal
The Flare 8 was the natural choice for the partnership, powerful enough to represent the brand and large enough in surface area to carry real graphic storytelling. MLS provided brand guidelines for all 10 teams, logos, wordmarks, color palettes and uniform kits, and the goal was sophisticated, team specific patterns built with finesse rather than one design pulled across the board. The product needed to be loud enough, visually, to match how fans actually show up for their club, the same energy that would carry into the video campaign built around each team.
Work
Each Bumpboxx was designed as its own expression of team identity, built from that team's own logos, colors and kit details. Where brand assets were limited, more care went into finding the details that still made a team instantly recognizable. Seeing the finished units together highlighted just how different those ten personalities were, and just how much range existed within a single league, which became one of the strongest arguments for the partnership itself.
The video campaign, Play Louder, extended that same idea into motion. Each video married the sheer volume of the Bumpboxx with the sound of that team's own fans in the stadium, cut together with snippets of real game footage and practice, turning fan noise and product volume into the same statement. The promotional content itself needed to flex across all ten teams, with templates built so that game footage, practice footage or product shots could be swapped in for any given team, keeping every video feeling like part of one unified campaign while still being entirely its own.
